It can’t be ugly

If it bleeds

Get lost of me

In the seats

Glorify the mirror

It shows flesh

Lovely terror

Should be stressed

The Plant (Part 2)

It tastes great. Sweet but a bit smoky. It has the kick of a wasabi pea in terms of aromatics. Your mouth waters and tastes a bit like battery acid. The young woman eats another one and then another. The plant is truly delicious. It makes your hands feel light. Your eyes open up a little more to receive the warmth of the atmosphere. So does your skin. Your head stops weighing anything. The tips of your cheekbones finally feel like they can relax. Your thoughts get quieter, gentler, more appreciative. What a wonderful treat her mother had been enjoying in private. The feeling is too euphoric for the young woman to even want to question her mother on keeping these seeds to herself. She just smiles thinking of her mom laid out on the ground in this greenhouse. In her floral oasis. She decides to get down there on the floor. She feels like her mother is laying next to her. Happy tears fill her eyes. Something seems to be just right about this moment. Her mother wasn't far at all now. They were both sprawled out on the earth. Like a couple of caimans smiling. The young woman can't help but love every second of it. It was all so light. A perfectly human moment. There was peace and joy. The young woman dozes off into purple clouds…[TO BE CONTINUED].

The Field (Part 4)

An organism that looked exactly like X1. It had all the same colors, dimensions, hollow spaces, shine, texture, smoothness. Perfectly identical in every physical way. The 2nd X1 welcomed themselves. It was them who took the initiative in beginning socialization. Once the 1st X1 realized that they could innately communicate, they began to teach the 2nd X1 about their history, more specifically, their enemies. The 1st X1 explained that at first everything was in harmony. The work was carried out in a genuine way. Then, with the introduction of the 2nd X2 everything changed. There was an injustice. Taking away the balance of the numbers disgraced the field. It brought shame to what was being done there. The 2nd X1 seemed to understand the message all too easily. An agreement was struck that the only rational thing to do would be eliminate one or more of the X2's. It had to be done. In order to restore sanity to the field there would have to be an extermination...[TO BE CONTINUED].

All the time

You’re just now realizing

There’s new shadows

Using your vocabulary to taunt

Look at how the power moves

Where is your castle, king?

Remember these helpless hands?

Unsettled you’ll be spit out soon

Broken dishes aired out

Who laughed in your face?

All the time!

Please stay far away.

All the time!

I’d hate myself too.

Love me like I do

Casino Couple (Part 6)

Reggie and Megan looked at each other with that wide-eyed, slightly ignorant stare they sometimes wear. They couldn't believe the audacity of Las Vegas. Always trying to reel you into some sort of money spending scheme. Using any and all sorts of hooks and levers to entice you. Whether it's sex or adrenaline highs or nice cuisines or fantasy, the couple saw through it, in a way. Compared to other people, they were looking to live comfortable, quiet lives. They might be young, but - as we know - they're seasoned. Quite seasoned. They've lived. Not to mention, there must be some sort of love between the two. Both had treated the other with a lot of care throughout the entirety of the relationship. When they finally decided to officially be a couple, they ran with it. There had been past relationships which were washed away due to the usual problems. Lack of communication, jealousies, boredom (you know the deal). Not this one. Take into account, also, they're nearing the end of their twenties. It's time to think about having a family with someone. That's the thing to do. First the wedding, of course, but kids and the whole living together thing are on the horizon. That's their mindset right now. Las Vegas had given them a great deal of good fortune through the jackpot money, nonetheless, the city itself made their skin crawl. Sure, they could be naïve but they weren't naïve and daring. No, they understood that the world was a hard place with the opportunity to take some big scrapes and falls. They held hands, walked past the lobby's counter, and on to the hot pavement. The workers at the Aria were kidding themselves if they thought they would fall into these staged pitfalls...[TO BE CONTINUED]
