The Plant (Part 3)

The warmth of the sun woke up the young woman. She'd slept a whole day out in the green house. Draped with the gases. On the dirt but with the euphoria of the plant. She gathered the shells and put them in a mound next to her mother's. She went and took a long, hot shower. Almost scolding water running off the tip of her nose while singing along to rock music. There were new smells in the bathroom. She opened up products she hadn't touched in months. Took time combing her hair and realizing it wasn't so bad. When she got dressed she slipped into her favorite, most comfortable summer shorts and shirt. She looked good in those. Something told her to get something to eat and take a walk so that's what she was going to do. It was finally beginning to warm up in her city and the drive to the market was close. While waiting, one of the photographers came over and asked if he could take a picture of her. She asked what it was for and he said it was for a big magazine. That he was just looking to kill time. She agreed. He took three or four pictures, then she stood up with her bag to signal that the photoshoot was over. He snapped one more. As she walked away, she heard a phone call come in explaining that the photoshoot go on as scheduled. That someone called "Valeria" wouldn't be attending. Someone shouted her name, she turned around to see the manager waving her goodbye. She waved back and couldn't help but smile and feel electric about it all. The camera man was a bit overwhelming but it felt good to reject the attention. Not to mention walking away from the past lover. Pictures from a professional photographer. A magic loomed within her belly...[TO BE CONTINUED].
